Michigan legislation that would allow the owner of a motor vehicle repair facility to operate an auxiliary facility under the same registration has passed the Senate and is pending in the House during these final days of the 2023-2024 legislative session.
The bill, S 867, is designed to relieve the burden of auto dealerships, which have “experienced changes due to technological advancement in the car manufacturing industry” according to the official legislative summary, to be required to obtain a second license for even nearby auxiliary spaces.
