Auto glass will be exempt from a bill passed by the Rhode Island legislature that would prohibit insurers from denying the use of OEM parts for vehicles that are between two and three years old. The glass exemption is part of an existing Rhode Island law that would be slightly amended should this bill be approved to allow car owners to use OEM parts for the repair of their vehicles that are 4-6 years old.
The legislation, SB 2440, passed the Rhode Island Senate on May 7 and the House on June 13. It now moves to the Governor for signature. For text of the bill CLICK HERE.
