  • Alaska Window Tinting Bill Introduced

    Legislation has been introduced in the Alaska House that would prohibit window tinting on motor vehicles.  The bill, H 211, prohibits tinting that is below five inches on the front windshield, that is mirrored or reduces light transmission on the side and rear windows to less than 35 percent.  The proposal provides exemptions for medical reasons and for limos, passenger buses and motor homes.

  • Alaska Franchise Bill Signed into Law

    The governor of Alaska has signed an industry-related bill into law.

    The bill, H136, “revises provisions relating to motor vehicle franchises, motor vehicle transactions, motor vehicle dealers, motor vehicle manufacturers, and motor vehicle distributors; relates to the termination of franchise agreements; [and] relates to good cause to establish or relocate new motor vehicle dealer.”

    The bill was introduced in February 2017 and signed into law on July 3.
